What is beyond your reach, is within Allah's command.
Focus on reliance on Allah and not the outcome in these last nights of Ramadan....
Assalamu'alaikum wr wb my dear friend!
Here are 2 Ideas, A Verse to Reflect Upon & One Question for you 👇
Two Ideas from me
1. My dua story in the last 10 nights of Ramadan
One of my university requirements was to complete a one-year long internship and a final year project. Everyone in my batch had already secured an internship with a company except me.
After 3 months, I did not get a single interview from the school’s internship portal, and the career coaches in school were also puzzled why. (I am an average student, though I am a student leader and hold leadership roles in 2 university clubs.)
The deadline to secure an internship passed.
The school gave me another two weeks as a final chance to secure an internship outside of the school portal (which means I am on my own).
Two weeks is considered quite impossible, and my professor emailed me to say that I may have to extend my university study.
By this time, I already surrendered my affairs to Allah, and I told myself I would be content with whatever He has planned for me. (Of course, I did feel a little sad if I had to extend my studies…)
It was however, the last 10 nights of Ramadan and I had been making dua to get an internship and graduate smoothly. The elders at the mosque encouraged me a lot to be certain in Allah’s Plans.
Then on the morning of the 27th Ramadan, suddenly I got a phone call. I totally forgot that I had applied to an outsourcing technology company weeks back (outside of my school portal)… and they asked if I was still available for an interview on Friday for an internship.
I said yes, and they sent me the job posting details, that is also when I got to know that it was a position with one of the world’s largest motor vehicle companies.
I was skeptical at first, because it was so sudden (after 3 months of no interviews). And for such a huge company, I believe there would be many others competing for that role. There would usually be a few rounds interview with the HR and technical team, that would take 1-2 months.
But I didn’t have much options anyway, so I prepared myself for the interview in two days time.
On Friday morning, 29th Ramadan, 9am, I went for the interview. About one and a half hours later, the interviewer told me that he will be okay to hire me and that he will be my supervisor.
He said I should be able to get the job confirmation by afternoon.
Subhanallah…
Two weeks later I was in the company…. And everything that led to graduation went smoothly, and I graduated last year.
Alhamdulillah, this was only by Allah’s Mercy.
I am not sharing this to tell you that Allah will definitely answer your duas within the last 10 nights of Ramadan…
But to remember to trust in Him even when things seem impossible.
What is beyond your reach, is within Allah’s command.
What is impossible for you, is easy for Allah.
Trust in Him, for He can open doors where none seem to exist.
2. Prophet Musa AS was running towards a dead end
Imagine you were running behind Nabi Musa AS, and you run up to the shores of a sea.
There is no way swimming would allow you to escape from Firaun’s army…
It would seem as though there is no way out.
Yet, Nabi Musa AS did not shake in his faith. It is not the fact that he knew Allah was going to split the sea so he ran towards the sea.
But because He trusted Allah’s commands and plans for Him, such that even when everyone around him said, “We will be overtaken!”
What did he reply?
قَالَ كَلَّآۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهۡدِينِ
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."
Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:62
Not just Prophet Musa AS,
Prophet Ibrahim AS was thrown in the fire,
Prophet Yunus AS was swallowed by the whale,
Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her) was pregnant without a husband,
and so many other “impossible“ stories…
But we tend to look at these stories in hindsight, knowing how Allah’s help eventually came. Sometimes this makes us expect that trust in Allah = Miracles from Him…
But the truth is far more profound.
The prophets and Maryam (peace be upon them) did not endure their trials because they expected instant miracles. They endured because their certainty & yaqeen in Allah was absolute.
Their faith was not conditional on divine intervention. It was rooted in unshakable trust in Allah’s wisdom, even when the path seemed impossible.
So let us re-focus these last nights of Ramadan:
From reliance on outcomes to reliance on Allah.
A Verse to Reflect Upon
Maryam said, “My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?“
The angel said, “Such is Allah; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it,
‘Be!’ And it is.
Surah Ali-’Imran 3:47
Allah’s command is greater than we can ever feel or perceive, let us make use of these last 10 nights of Ramadan to ask Allah for greater things.
You are communicating with your Rabb who grants the entire world its provisions and greatness, so request for both small and great things inshaAllah!
One Question for you
Knowing that Allah can move mountains for you, what are you willing to sacrifice about your life to prove in your actions that you want to increase your trust in Him?
(We will share some suggestions next week inshaAllah!)
